Biography

Mike Perroud began playing the violin after spotting the instrument hanging as a decoration in his living room. A year later, he was accepted into the Conservatoire de Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He continued his studies in Bulgaria, earning a Bachelor's degree under Prof. Ginka Gichkova at the National Academy of Music in Sofia, followed by a Master’s in Interpretation at the University of Music in Nürnberg, Germany, under Dr. Reto Kuppel.

He has participated in masterclasses with renowned musicians, including Shlomo Mintz, Albert Markov, Pierre Amoyal, Mintcho Mintchev, as well as the Miami and Parker Quartets and was awarded music prizes in Switzerland, Germany and Bulgaria.

Since 2017, he has co-led "notiSYMo" (previously “les Pinsons divers”), a violin trio based in Switzerland involved in the realization of musical projects and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Switzerland, Bulgaria, and USA. With a passion for uncovering innovative instrument combinations, he recently launched with his colleague Sky Pearson the violin and percussion ensemble Kindling, based in Central Florida.

Mike Perroud is currently a member of the Pegasus String Quartet program at the School of Performing Arts, University of Central Florida, Orlando, USA.
